Job Description:

The Research Fellow (Agriculture) will work in ‘Research and Study’ cell of SDS and conduct research in the field of Agriculture Northeast India. This role involves field study, data collection, analyzing data, report writing, presentation of research findings etc.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data through surveys, fieldwork, or other methods specified in the research plan.

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data by following established protocols and procedures.

  • Manage and organize collected data in a way that facilitates analysis.

  • Analyze data using appropriate statistical methods or software tools.

  • Interpret results and discuss their implications in the context of the research objectives.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of existing literature to contextualize the research within the broader academic and scientific landscape.

  • Identify gaps in the existing literature that the current project aims to address.

  • Prepare research reports, papers, and presentations to communicate findings to the academic community, stakeholders, and funding bodies.

  • Contribute to the drafting and editing of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Coordinate with other team members, including research assistants, technicians, and students, to ensure the smooth execution of the project.

  • Attend meetings and provide updates on the progress of the research

  • Foster collaborations with other researchers, institutions, and industry partners.

  • Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to present research findings and network with other professionals.

 

Education Qualification: M.Sc. (Agriculture) or equivalent

 

Experience: Minimum 1 (one) year research experience in the field of agriculture research preferably in North East.

 

Other requirement

  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork or conferences.

  • Able to speak and understand local language to communicate with the local community.

  • Commitment to advancing agricultural research.

Compensation: 35,000 (Rupees thirty five thousand)
